Anne, Fran, Dad, Friends, Parade

I realize I haven't posted in awhile - slacking on my part. Anne has had some complications after little Bella's birth and is hopefully now recovering well. Our prayers are with you Anne!

It's Fran's Birthday this weekend! He's chasing Rick's number.
Unfortunately, it's also the day my Dad passed away too. He would have turned 100 this year if he were alive. Wow.

We had a great time visiting with our Utah friends that moved here with us from CA many years ago - Clyde and Michelle and Dave and Candace. Friends are good for your soul and bring such joy into your life. You guys are awesome. Clyde had a heart transplant a few years ago and is doing great!

The Univ of Utah won the Sugar Bowl and today is the parade downtown! Perfect season.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Yeah! Today my Mom has a very special birthday. It's one of those mile markers in life, a decade change. I'm not so sure you're suppose to share the age of a woman, but let's just say that I hope I'm as healthy as she is when I'm that age. She's been an inspiration in my life and I'm lucky to be a part of hers. I'll be there next week to celebrate!
Happy Birthday Mom!

Happy New Year

Happy 2009 to all! We're having some mochi soup for lunch today. This is a tradition near to my heart or stomach. I didn't do well on the resolution of exercise last year so I will concentrate on that this year. I decided that I need to build in some accountability so I found this biker chick from our church who is a personal trainer. I believe she could hurt me if I don't exercise so she is perfect for my accountability partner. Actually, she has a beautiful heart, I just wouldn't mess with her. She has outlined a plan for me so that I have no excuses. Whether on the road or at home, my resistence is my weight, so I have to exercise. Today, one challenge is pull ups (and not the diaper kind). Rick is going to help me too. Yes, this means a halt to Ice Berg milk shakes temporarily. Cake too. :( Rick got me one of those watches that tracks your heart rate, times your walk/run, tracks your distance on GPS and even tells you if you've climbed in elevation or not and if so by how much and finally, it keeps a history of your work outs. Wow, it's impressive.
